3 Minutes, 3 Key Decisions More Time?
3 Key Decisions The most important factor in deciding on a Stroller is how many children you need to fit. We've got strollers that hold 1, 2. or 3 passengers. Just choose the number of seats you'll need and browse our selections.
| One Child - You've only got one infant or child in the stroller age, these are for you. | |
| Two Children - Got twins? Or an infant and a toddler? These strollers have independently adaptable seats so you can customize a fit for each child. | |
| Three Children - Got triplets? Two infants and a toddler? An infant and two toddlers? These strollers have independently adaptable seats so you can customize a fit for each child. | |
| Back to Top | In recent years, the Jogging Strollers market has expanded into three different kinds of Strollers, designed for very different uses. Some are designed as extremely durable and maneuverable Strollers to be taken on sidewalks in the city and into stores and shops. Other Strollers are designed to be taken “off-roadingâ€; on grass at the park, on dirt roads or light trails, and even to the beach. Still other Strollers are designed purely for Running and Jogging, made to be taken on paved roads and paths.
| | Around Town - These Strollers are designed to maneuver through crowds on city sidewalks, around clothing racks in a store, or tables at a café. Around Town Strollers feature: - A swivel front wheel for easier corners and steering - Smaller wheels to make the Stroller easier to turn - Road Wheels for a smooth ride on paved sidewalks or indoors |
| | Trips to the Park/BeachThese Strollers are designed to go where no Stroller has gone before, on trails, on grass and even to the beach. All Terrain Strollers feature: - A fixed front wheel for traction on uneven surfaces - Smaller wheels to make the Stroller easier to turn - All Terrain Wheels for a grip on paved dirt roads, grass, or sand |
| | Running/Jogging - These Strollers are designed to go, go, go. Large Strollers feature: - A fixed front wheel for a smooth straight ride - Larger wheels to glide over small bumps - Road Wheels to reduce friction for a faster ride |
| | Back to Top | All of our Strollers fold, however some end up smaller than others. If you've got limited storage space, or need to keep it in the back of your car, you'll want to look for smaller storage sizes. If storage isn't an issue: generally, the double and triple Strollers are bigger all around and will also have a correspondingly bigger stored size.
| Car Trunk - These Strollers all fold up to a very compact size, meaning they're ideal for tossing in the trunk of your car. And since they won't take up much space you can leave it where it's always ready when you need it. | |
| Closet - These Strollers all still fold up small enough to fit in your trunk, though they take up a bit more room than our Smaller Strollers. These may somewhat limit what else you can fit in there with it. | |
| Garage - These Strollers will still fit in a car trunk, though it will restrict what else you can fit in there with it. These are often our double, triple and special needs Strollers, but this also includes some of our high performance Running Strollers designed for that function rather than portability. | |
| Back to Top | The age of your child is a very important factor in choosing the correct Stroller. It's not recommended that you actually jog or run with your baby in the stroller until they are at least 6 Months old. If your child is younger than that you'll need to decide if you want an adaptable stroller that you can use now and that will grow with them, or if you want to buy a stroller for when they are old enough and wait until they grow into it to jog or run with them.
| | Newborn - Doctors recommend that your baby be at least 6-8 weeks old before riding in a stroller outdoors in a seated position, as they cannot properly support their head or regulate their own body temperature. Babies under 3 months need to lie flat for correct spinal alignment, freedom of movement, and may turn their heads to spit up. All of these strollers have a carrycot adaptor so that the stroller can be used for infants under 6 months of age. Some come included, others you'll need to add on. It's not recommended that you take the stroller on rough or bumpy roads until they are over 6 Months old, but if you live in a rural area and don't have another option, you'll need to use an infant car seat and find a stroller that has a car seat adapter that allows you to clip the car seat into the stroller. Please consult with your doctor about the proper stroller recommendation for your child. |
| | 6 to 8 Weeks - At 6-8 weeks, most babies can support their own heads and can begin riding in a stroller for short periods of time, though only on smooth surfaces. Babies who have trouble holding their heads up must have additional head and neck support to ride safely and comfortably. Supporting an infant's head properly will also help him/her sleep more soundly. It is not recommended that you jog or run with an infant under 6 - 8 Months old. Please consult with your doctor about the proper stroller recommendation for your child. |
| | 6 Months - It is not recommended that you jog or run with an infant under 6 - 8 Months old. Please consult with your doctor about the proper stroller recommendation for your child. We recommend that you try running without your child in the stroller at first, so that you can get a feel for how to control the stroller. Once you do begin running, we advise that you first start with short runs so both you and your child can get accustomed to it. |
| | 5 Years - These strollers are designed for special needs children. With max weight ranges of up to 200 lbs and age recommendation up to 17 years of age. |
| | Back to Top | ''The importance of the weight capacity of the stroller depends on your intended use. For most children, a weight capacity of 50 lbs is plenty to get them through to walking. If your child is especially tall or heavy, you may want to look at a stroller with a higher capacity so they don't outgrow it. If you have a Special needs child you'll want to look for a weight capacity that is adequate to support them. With weight capacities up to 200 lbs, finding the right one should be easy.
| Under 50 lbs - Strollers with Maximum Weight Capacities Under 50 lbs are designed exclusively for infants and light toddlers. These are generally less expensive than models with a higher capacity, but your child will outgrow it at some point. If your infant is on the taller or heavier side, you may want to look at stepping up to a higher Max Weight Capacity so that they don't outgrow the stroller before you or they are ready to. | |
| 50 to 100 lbs - Strollers with Max Weight Capacities of 50 - 100 lbs are single strollers for larger toddlers or younger special needs children, and double strollers, meant to hold two children. It's important to remember that this is a maximum weight capacity and that these strollers will hold lighter children. If your child is on the smaller side or you think it won't be long before they're walking and don't need it, check out our Under 50 lb strollers. If your child is really tall or heavy, check out our Over 100 lb strollers. | |
| Over 100 lbs - Strollers with Max Weight Capacities Over 100 lbs are designed to hold 3 little ones, 2 bigger children or an older special needs child. We've got strollers that will hold up to 200 lbs, so it'll be easy to find the one that best fits your child(ren) and your needs. | |
| Back to Top | Reclining seats in jogging strollers debuted in 2000, and have become a very popular feature as they allow you to use the stroller for a younger child. Please note that just because a seat reclines, does not mean it goes completely flat. A few strollers offer a fully flat position for a newborn, but many only go back to a position that allows the child to relax and keeps their head from bouncing too much. To provide even more protection, we recommend using a support pillow until your child is able to support his or her own head and neck. Please note that not all reclining strollers have a seat that lies all the way flat, which is the recommended postion for all infants under 3 months. The seats on all of our double and triple strollers recline independently.
| | Lies Flat - These Strollers have seat backs that recline all the way to flat. These are ideal for infants under 3 months of age. Doctors also recommend that infants under 3 months old lie flat in order to allow for proper spinal alignment, freedom of movement, and so that they may turn their heads if they need to spit up. |
| | Reclines - If your child is under 6 months old, a reclining seat is a very important feature. Since infants often cannot hold up their own head until 3-6 months of age, they need a seat that reclines in order to properly support their head. Doctors also recommend that infants under 3 months old lie flat in order to allow for proper spinal alignment, freedom of movement and so that they may turn their heads if they need to spit up. |
| | Back to Top | The Front Wheel Type determines where the Stroller is best suited to be used. A Swivel Wheel provides maneuverability. A Fixed Wheel is ideal for running or jogging. Want both? Check out the Swivel with Lockout Wheels for dual functionality.
| Fixed Only - A Fixed Wheel is best for running or jogging, as it provides a straight and stable ride. Fixed Wheels are also ideal on trails or in sand, as that wheel is not going to get stuck. However, to turn a corner, you''ll have to lift the front wheel and spin on the rear wheels. If you'll be using your Stroller only for running or mostly off road, then a fixed wheel is for you. But if you need an all-purpose Stroller that will also let you run with it on occasion, then check out our Swivel with Lockout Strollers. | |
| Swivel Only - A Swivel Wheel makes the stroller maneuverable, great for tight corners, such as getting around clothing racks in a store or tables at the coffee shop. However, you won't be able to run or jog with them because the front wheel will shake providing a very unstable, and bumpy ride for your passenger. If you'd like to be able to run with your stroller on occasion, check out our Swivel with Lockout Strollers, which have the option of locking the front wheel so you can run with it — or unlocking for maneuverability around town. | |
| Swivel with Lockout - For a great all-purpose Stroller, these can't be beat! Swivel Wheels with Lockout function best as a swivel wheel, for maneuverability they are functionally identical to the Swivel Wheel. When locked out, they simulate the Fixed Wheel. However, many still shake a bit when locked out, so if you'll be using your Stoller more for running than Around Town, you'll probably want a true Fixed Wheel Stroller. | |
| Back to Top | The type of wheels used on a Stoller determines what type of surfaces the Stroller will be most suited to. Just like on a bicycle, thin air-filled tires are ideal for road surfaces and thicker knubbed tires are great for off roading.
| | Road Wheels - These Strollers have thin air-filled tires that are suited to being used on paved surfaces or indoors. The thin surface area reduces friction, which means that the stroller will glide without a lot of force. This is ideal if you will be running with your stroller and you don't want it to slow you down too much. |
| | All Terrain Wheels - These Strollers have thick knubby tires that are suited to being used on dirt, grass, or sand. The wide surface area increases grip, allowing for traction control, which means that the stroller won't slip around on unstable surfaces. This is ideal if you will be taking the Stroller on grass, light trails, or to the beach. |
| | Back to Top | Stroller Wheel Size is not related to the stability of the Stroller. Instead the Wheel size is related to the function of the stroller. The larger the wheel, the smoother the ride, but the harder the stroller will be to maneuver. The smaller the wheel, the more maneuverable the stroller will be; but with a bumpier ride. The Rear Wheels of the Stroller are responsible for bearing the weight of the Strollers and the passengers. br>The Front Wheel is more responsible for the direction of the Stroller.
| 10 in. - We've only got one stroller with 10 in. rear wheels. It is exclusively designed to be taken Around Town, expecially in a city on paved sidewalks. The small tires mean that the Stroller is easy to steer and that it doesn't take up much space on crowded sidewalks or when folded, making it easy to take on public transportation. | |
| 12 in. - Strollers with 12 in. Rear Wheels are ideally suited for walking Around Town or on All Terrain. They offer superior maneuverability and smoother ride than a traditional stroller with tiny plastic wheels. These wheels are on the smaller side for a Jogging Stroller, so they'll take up less room when stored, but you won't get the smoother ride of a larger wheel, so they aren't ideal for running or jogging. | |
| 16 in. - Stroller with 16 in. Rear Wheels are the most versatile. The Wheels are large enough to provide a smooth glide, yet maneuverable enough to take around town or on trails and small enough to still store easily in the trunk of a car. | |
| 20 in. - Strollers with 20 in. Rear Wheels are designed to be used almost exclusively for Running or Jogging. You'll get a supremely smooth glide which means if you're a serious runner, these Strollers will barely slow you down. However, with such large wheels these Strollers will be difficult to maneuver through crowds. They also don't fold up very compactly, so they aren't a great travel Stroller. | |
| Back to Top | All of our Strollers are designed to have Handle Bars that are comfortable for the average-sized user. They range from 36 to 45 in. from the ground. If you're extremely short, you'll want to look for a Stroller with a shorter handle bar height. If you're extremely tall, you'll want to look for a Stroller with a higher handle-bar height. If more than one adult will be using the stroller and they vary greatly in height, you might want to consider our Adjustable Handle Bar Strollers.
| | Fixed - Looking for an absolutely silent machine? You need to go with Magnetic Resistance. These are all full-sized machines, but the selection is broad: folding or non-folding, basic or advanced console programming, rowing-only machines or machines with other exercises included. |
| | Adjustable - These Strollers have Handle Bars that adjust so that users of all heights can get a comfortable and natural position while walking, jogging, or running. |
| | Back to Top | If you plan on traveling with your Stroller or putting it in the trunk of your car, Stoller Weight can be an important factor. Our Strollers range from 17 lbs to 45 lbs — the single strollers being lighter than the doubles or triples.
| Under 20 lbs - These Strollers all weigh Under 20 lbs, which make them extremely lightweight and easy to travel and zip around town with. There aren't any double or triple strollers here, so if you've got more than one child you'll want to look at our 20 - 30 lb Strollers. | |
| 20 to 30 lbs - These Strollers all weigh from 20 - 30 lbs, which make them a little harder to get in and out of the car, but still portable. There aren't any triple strollers here, so if you've got more than two children you'll need to look at our Over 30 lb Strollers. | |
| Over 30 lbs - These Strollers all weigh Over 30 lbs, which make them a handful to get in and out of the car. These are generally our double and triple Strollers as well as our special needs Strollers, where the added weight goes towards supporting more or bigger passengers. | |
